Description from the seller

Missale Romanum sacrosantcum concilii Tridentini published in A.D 1932

In very special red velvet binding with silver clasps, cornerpieces and centerpieces.

Binding has two silver centerpieces; on the front with holy heart of Jezus on the back Holy hart of Mary both in a diamond shape.

The eight silver cornerpieces with an engraving of flowers similar to the front and backs of the clasps.

Inside a decoration in chromo litho with Last Supper, King Melchisedek and Emmaus goers.

Hallmarks on corner pieces and claps:

- Number 2 surrounded by floral sprays for silver imported in Belgium.
- Hand with Staff for silver of the 2 grade = 800/1000 = 80 % pure silver.

Both marks were used in between the years 1814-1831. (Dutch occupation)

This means that the binding of this missal is much older than the inserted book, probably around the year 1830 or earlier. Due tot a intensive use to old missal was worn out and replaced by a new copy in 1932.

Dimensions: 36 x 26 x 7,5 cm.
