AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Large bronze table lamp: Napolitan Fisher Boy with Shell - Mid 20th Century

A very atmospheric and heavy bronze table lamp, made in the style of the famous French sculptor Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux. The sculpture depicts the iconic 'Napolitan Fisher Boy' (Pêcheur Napolitain à la Coquille), kneeling with a fisherman's net bringing a large nautilus shell to his ear to listen to the sea.
The natural shell serves as a beautiful, organic lampshade. When the lamp is lit, the shell glows with a warm, fiery light, beautifully accentuating the natural details and patterns of the shell.

Style: After Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux
Material: Bronze with a deep brown patina and a natural nautilus shell
Period: Mid 20th century
In good working and very beautiful condition. The shell is intact and the bronze sculpture shows a fine, authentic age patina. Equipped with functioning wiring and switch.

Unsigned (typical for these decorative castings from the 20th century).

A beautiful and timeless art object that is an absolute showpiece as both a sculpture and mood lighting in any classic or modern interior.
Meticulously and professionally packaged.
