Description from the seller
Vintage Tarok hanging lamp by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup – Denmark, 1970s
A beautiful and highly sought-after Tarok pendant lamp, designed by the renowned Danish designer Jo Hammerborg and produced by Fog & Mørup in Denmark during the 1970s.
This iconic Scandinavian design combines a beautifully proportioned dark blue lacquered aluminum shade with elegant details in solid brass, including the characteristic pull handle and the mounting bracket. The refined color combination and clean geometric lines make this lamp a real eye-catcher in both modern and vintage interiors.
The Tarok model is particularly interesting because it is a 1970s reinterpretation by Hammerborg of the famous Schlegel lamp, originally designed by Fritz Schlegel in 1938.
When the lamp is lit, the layered construction provides a warm, glare-free and atmospheric light, typical of the best Danish lighting design.
The original Fog & Mørup factory label is still present on the inside of the lampshade and confirms the authenticity of this special piece.
Condition
The lamp is in very good vintage condition, with only light signs of use and aging that suit its age. It has been well preserved and forms a beautiful example of Danish design and vintage lighting.
