Rare and large antique fish-serving plate / fish platter - AB Göteborgs Porslinsfabrik, Sweden - 45cm - Jugendstil / Art Nouveau - circa 1910

A rare and large antique fish-serving plate in the shape of a fish (carp / flatfish) from the Swedish factory AB Göteborgs Porslinsfabrik, Hisingen - Gothenburg. There is a genuine collector's item from the Swedish Jugendstil / Art Nouveau period, circa 1905-1915. The factory had a full-length line across a wide range of products via a connection to Rörstrand, where pieces well over 110 years old were produced.

The glaze is beautifully naturalistic, with detailed features such as the head, eye, mouth and fins. Glazed with a flint glaze meeting a characteristic gray-blue / white crackle glaze. Crackle glaze, a fine network of cracks in the crackle glaze, is inherent to the hot production process of this factory and contributes to its character and authenticity.

Dimensions: about 45 cm long x a shallow serving surface about 4 cm high.
23 cm is the distance from belly to back
