Keystone 8mm Cine Camera Model K-8 (1930s) – Artistic Restoration and Custom Leatherette Replacement "Family Life Tribute"
Lot Description
The Restorer and the Concept
Made in Florence by a professional restorer of artworks and antique items with over 30 years of experience.
This unique piece blends the history of amateur cinema with the technique of contemporary art restoration. One of the two sides has been covered with a new-generation technical material, resistant to wear, pleasant to the touch, and water-repellent and oleophobic (resistant to oils and grease from hands). The work has been carried out with meticulous attention to surface cleaning and odors, allowing the cine camera not only to present itself as a unique collectible piece but also to maintain its functionality.
The Work: Tribute to Family Filming in the 1930s
The lateral side of the camera bears a vintage high-definition print illustration depicting an outdoor family scene from the 1930s-40s: a father filmmaker of the era filming his children and wife in the family garden. A true tribute to visual memory, to the golden age of cinema in 8mm format, and to the primordial desire of families of the era to immortalize the happiest moments of their lives.
