Description from the seller

Dupon Brugge – Christus Koning – polychromed plaster – Belgium – circa 1930–1950

Professionally shipped – more than 1000 five-star reviews worldwide.

Large sculpture of Christ the King, crowned and with the right hand raised in blessing. In his left hand he holds an open book bearing the words “Rex ego sum”: “I am the king,” a reference to his answer to Pontius Pilate. The inscription on the base, “Rex regum, Dominus dominantium,” means “King of kings and Lord of lords” and emphasizes his rule over all earthly rulers. The crown and the solemn pose fit this portrayal of Christ as universal king. The long robe features folded drapery and a gold-colored meander border at the neckline.

Height approximately 73 cm; in good overall condition with normal signs of aging.

Not signed, but sourced from Dupon in Brugge.

Please take a good look at the photos; they are part of the description.

Shipped with tracking.
