AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Large and heavy antique church candlestick with angel heads and spiral stem – Brass/Yellow copper – 50 cm / 7.6 kg – ca. 1900
Description:
Beautiful, very robust and authentic altar/church candlestick made of solid cast brass/yellow copper. This impressive candelabrum is characterized by its classic Neo-Gothic/Neo-Baroque form with a masterfully twisted (spiral) stem and refined religious details.
The triangular base is richly decorated with raised angels’ heads (cherubs) and rests on sturdy corner feet. At the top there is a generous drip pan with profiled edge and an original steel spike/pin holder for large church candles.
Given the substantial weight of well over 7.6 kg, this is an extremely stable and high-quality casting with a beautiful warm-golden patina developed over time.
Origin: Western Europe (probably Belgium / France / the Netherlands).
Dating: ca. 1890 – 1920.
Material: Cast brass / yellow copper.
Height: 50 cm (excluding candle).
Width/Base: 14 cm.
Weight: 7.6 kg.
Condition:
In very good antique condition with normal age-related signs of use and aging. The brass shows a lovely natural patina and light superficial wear that enhances its character. No cracks or structural defects; very sturdy.
(Candle shown in photos is for illustration and is not included).
The object will be carefully packed and insured shipped with track & trace.
