Description from the seller
Maroccan septarian nodules — Silver Pendant with Septaria – Natural Moroccan Septarian Cabochon Elegant pendant made of silver and adorned with an oval cabochon carved from a natural septarian nodule from Morocco. The stone presents a particularly graphic structure, characterized by wide dark areas crossed by an irregular network of white-cream mineral veins, evidence of fractures developed inside the nodule during its geological formation and later filled by secondary minerals. One of the most interesting elements of the specimen is the presence of small metallic pyrite crystals, clearly visible on the polished surface. The tiny brass-toned geometric shapes emerge from the dark background, creating bright points and a pleasant contrast with the light veining of the septaria. The cabochon polishing allows the internal complex tessellation of the stone to be observed with particular clarity: the deep black and brown zones seem divided into different natural cells, delineated by lighter lines that run across the entire surface. At the edge there are also brown-reddish tones that add further chromatic depth. The cabochon is set in a simple oval silver mount, chosen to let the natural structure of the stone take center stage. The large upper bail allows easy pairing with different types of chains. Each septarian has a completely different fracture pattern, making this pendant a unique specimen, halfway between jewelry and a small mineralogical specimen to wear. Material: Natural septarian with pyrite inclusions/crystals. Provenance of the stone: Morocco. Work: cutting and polishing to cabochon. Mounting: Silver. Shape: oval. Condition: as shown in photographs.
