Description from the seller

Spectacular multi-generational specimen from Uruguay — This extraordinary specimen, originating from Uruguay, presents itself as a complex and scenographic natural composition, difficult to compare with the most common mineral associations. Its uniqueness lies in the growth stratigraphy and the harmonious meeting of shapes, colors, and textures, making it a true work of geological art. The specimen embodies a succession of geological events, documenting the growth of several minerals within a single formation of exceptional beauty. The piece is dominated by a large honey-colored tabular formation, rising from the matrix like an imposing monolith. This structure, with broad and compact geometry, slightly tapered and defined by sharp margins, features a surface entirely coated with an ultra-fine microcrystallization of quartz. This coating produces thousands of pinpoint reflections that, under light, enhance the tones ranging from caramel to amber, light tobacco to golden bronze, giving the entire crystal a warm, deep luminosity with a somewhat 'sugary' appearance. In front of this imposing main structure, a second crystal group develops, consisting of numerous tabular calcite crystals. Their flattened, pseudo-hexagonal forms overlap in a suggestive way, creating stepped volumes, irregular rosettes, and aggregates of surprising complexity. Some crystals appear isolated and well-defined, while others interpenetrate and support one another, building a three-dimensional composition that seems deliberately shaped by nature. These calcite crystals are also covered by a thin mantle of microcrystalline quartz, visually unifying the different forms while keeping their underlying structure recognizable. Among the large calcites, a cavity opens in which the oldest core of the entire composition surfaces: a druza of microcrystalline amethyst in prune purple, mauve, and wine tones. This darker, more intensely colored area acts as the matrix and bears witness to the first generation of amethyst quartz that coated the original cavity. Subsequently, the large calcite crystals developed and finally a dense coating of microcrystalline quartz covered the entire association, turning it into a continuous and glittering surface. This is not merely a rare mineral association, but a high-level collectible specimen intended to enrich the most prestigious Wunderkammer mineral collections or be exhibited in museums. Conditions: Excellent. Any irregularities, small fractures, cavities or inclusions are part of the natural formation of the specimen and attest to its authenticity. The complex multi-generational growth and the delicate microcrystallization are intact and well preserved.

Seller's Story

The Mineral Art Gallery offers minerals, fossils, shells and natural elements. Born in Italy in 2017, today she collaborates with international galleries and collectors, she is a direct importer of large minerals and naturalistic collectible elements; deals with the processing to insert them inside the living space. A section of the gallery was dedicated to the Wunderkammer, "chamber of wonders or cabinet of curiosities" in which Mirabilia elements are presented: naturalia and italiania, a union between "the present is the past". All lots are shipped via DHL Express and Fercam couriers, with insured parcel and tracking.
