Description from the seller
14 antique wax votives – animals – folk devotion – 20th century
Professionally shipped – over 1000 five-star reviews worldwide.
Collection of 14 old wax votive offerings in the shape of animals. Animals were offered as votive gifts, for example with a request for protection or healing of the livestock.
The lot includes rabbits, cattle, poultry and a horse.
The pieces are individually formed and executed in different shades of wax. Several pieces are hollow-cast and some are still equipped with a hanging thread.
From an old collection of religious folk art.
Dimensions: the dove: 9 x 12cm, one rabbit 10cm tall. The remaining pieces vary in size.
Condition: signs of age and use, discolorations, soiling and local damage. Some pieces show small fractures or irregularities. See the photos for a full view of the condition.
Please examine the photos carefully; they are part of the description.
Shipped with track & trace.
