M. Jousset (Paris) Detective "Le Favori", a rare early 20th‑century camera in good condition and tested as working, with its original fixed lens encased in the body and a wooden, black embossed leather‑covered exterior dating from circa 1900–1910.
Description from the seller
Here is a fascinating and very rare early-century camera for high-end collections: the "Favori" (Detective Camera), produced in France (Paris) by M. Jousset from around 1900.
The lot presents in good vintage overall condition, consistent with the piece’s centennial age.
Optics: The original fixed lens embedded in the body is structurally intact and free of deep scratches or mold; only normal dirt and a widespread patina with physiological specks of internal dust due to time are evident, a natural detail that does not compromise its historical and museum-grade aesthetic.
Mechanics: The lot retains its original manual operating cinematics/mechanisms and they are usable.
Aesthetics: General vintage charm of bygone times, as clearly documented by the photographs. The solid and robust rectangular wooden body preserves its original era black grained leather covering, embossed and firmly attached to the housing, showing normal superficial signs of aging and centennial storage wear.
Tracked international shipping, fully insured and packed with professional, super-protective packing to ensure maximum safety during transport.
