Description from the seller
Set of 6 wine glasses, height 16.2 cm, diameter 9.3 cm. The producer is a well-known Swedish brand specializing in tableware, dinnerware and interior design, glassware: Duka, in the Sergel series (inspired/designed with references to the Swedish artist and sculptor Johan Tobias Sergel). Year of foundation: 1962. History: It originated from the union of 16 Swedish independent shops specializing in porcelain, glass and home articles (the oldest of which had been opened in 1920 in Linköping by Hjalmar Blomkvist). Description: The brilliantly clear hand-blown crystal glass is an elegant conical wine glass. The bowl features a tapered, elongated cone shape, supported by a stem finished with a central knot (waisted stem) and a flat circular base. The distinguishing feature is the incised and gold/bronze-decorated frieze along the upper band of the bowl, depicting garlands, stylized drapery, ribbons and laurel garlands in a strictly neoclassical style. Origin of the decoration: The design is inspired by the neoclassical friezes and motifs created by the Swedish court sculptor and artist Johan Tobias Sergel (1740–1814), from whom the series takes its name.
