AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Ram mask, Yoruba culture, Nigeria.
H. 28 cm - W. 20 cm

Beautiful and ancient Yoruba mask from Nigeria. It depicts a ram. It is an animal emblematic of Yoruba power (along with the leopard). This work feels alive and full of presence. The artist who created it knew how to bring it to life. Its gaze is piercing and captivating. It bears an impassive, focused, and determined expression. The sculpture is refined; the volumes are harmonious, a true success. Beautiful dry patina from age and handling. Some wear and minor flaws; sold as is, see photos. A beautiful old and authentic collectible piece. Circa 1950.
