Silk on silk - Turkiye - Mid 20th century
A beautiful Turkish Kayseri silk on silk prayer rug. This rug was made in the renowned Turkish city of Kayseri, known for high quality silk rugs.
This vintage rug features a bronze field with a jagged diamond medallion with paisley motifs throughout the medallion and border. Great for adorning chairs, sofas, hallways, beds and more.
These silk rugs are tightly woven with a high knot count 81 knots per square centimeter, 810,000 knots per square meter. The silk glows in the light and has a unique appearance from every angle.
