Rosenthal Studio-Line "Iris" (sometimes called "Blütenkelch") is highly prized among vintage crystal collectors. It was designed by famous designers Michael Boehm and Claus Josef Riedel. Production period This specific series was produced from 1979 to 1990 (some sources state that production began in 1974) at the Amberg factory in Bavaria. It is characterized by a premium 24% lead crystal that has an exceptional luster and a clean, clear sound when tapped. Design characteristics and versions Stand design: Three frosted (sandblasted) iris leaves connect the base to the transparent glass, creating the impression that the glass emerges from the flower.
The set consists of one large central serving bowl (e.g., for salad or fruit) and six smaller bowls that are ideal for stewed fruit, pudding, ice cream, or other desserts.
