Description from the seller
Art Deco table lamp with a vegetal forged iron mount, Art Nouveau influence
Lamp with a wrought-iron mount featuring grapevine and grape decoration and a satin-milked pressed molded glass shade, in the Art Deco style.
The piece is typical of French decorative lighting from the interwar period, with an evident influence from Art Nouveau (transition period Art Nouveau / Art Deco)
Circa: 1925-1940
The mount: Art Nouveau influence
Curved stems, grape leaves, and the grape cluster belong to the vegetal and naturalist repertoire of Art Nouveau.
The glass: Art Deco style
Its geometric silhouette, angular facets, and pointed terminus are characteristic of the decorative vocabulary of the 1920s-1930s.
This type of glassware is compatible with French Art Deco productions, notably from manufacturers such as Muller Frères, Degué, Schneider, or other glassmakers specializing in lighting.
It is precisely this meeting between the naturalism of blacksmithing and the geometrization of the glass that gives this lamp its character.
The wrought-iron stand weighs 885 g
It measures 37.5 cm in height and 27 cm wide
The wrought-iron square base measures 15.3 cm on each side
The glass weighs 264 g
Height 17 cm
Width at widest point: 13 cm
Opening at the neck: 8 cm in diameter
The total weight of the lamp is 1149 g
The lamp is in very good overall condition but, as is often the case with this type of lamp, there are a few tiny nicks at the level of the mount (neck) of the glass, but completely invisible once the shade is in place
The electrification has been redone and the lamp works perfectly (LED bayonet bulb included)
The power cord measures a total of 172 cm (you therefore have 148 cm of actual cord to power your lamp, since I tied the cord to the iron structure for at least 25 cm)
You just have to plug it in and press the switch so that this magnificent lamp lights up your home with a century of history.
