Description from the seller

Beautiful display piece featuring a pair of fossil Spatangus echinoids preserved on their original natural matrix from Portugal.

The two specimens have been carefully mounted on the original host rock to create an aesthetically pleasing presentation while discreetly concealing missing areas.

Despite these imperfections, both echinoids retain approximately 90% of their original structure, with the characteristic heart-shaped outline and surface details still clearly visible.

The use of the authentic original matrix preserves the natural appearance of the fossils and provides an attractive contrast to the echinoid tests, resulting in a display that is both scientifically interesting and visually appealing.

These fossil sea urchins represent an excellent opportunity for collectors of echinoids, marine fossils, and natural history specimens.

Seller's Story

I, Don, started fossil hunting in 1987, going from a passionate collector to a professional preparator and researcher. In all these years I have traveled searching for fossils in many parts of the world. Our fossils are present in private collections in the United States, Singapore, Taiwan, as well as in prestigious museums in the Uk, China and Japan. Quality in the preparation of the material and seriousness in managing the shipment in the best possible way distinguish us. Don
