Lupin & Jigen – Accomplices on Four Wheels
Size 29 cm x 41 cm
Watercolor on cotton rag paper

Original watercolor painting, entirely hand-painted, depicting Lupin III and his inseparable companion Jigen aboard their yellow SSK. In this scene rich in character and dynamism, Jigen wields his trusty pistol, ready to face any possible threat, while Lupin is at the wheel. The work celebrates the bond between the two characters, protagonists of hair-raising escapes, chases, and impossible missions in the universe created by the Japanese cartoonist Monkey Punch. For almost twenty years, Davide Zanella has developed a personal style that blends traditional watercolor technique with his passion for illustration and Japanese animation. An artist and illustrator, Davide Zanella is the official Mediaset licensee for Lupin III and creates works dedicated to the famous saga, reinterpreting its characters and atmospheres through his own artistic language.

The composition highlights the sporty character of the yellow SSK and the rapport between Lupin and Jigen, blending the allure of iconic cars with the action and adventurous spirit of the series. The watercolor technique gives the image a particular richness of color and an original painterly quality, transforming a scene inspired by the Lupin III universe into a unique hand-painted work.
