Description from the seller

Elegant and exceptionally designed soup tureen with lid, made of white porcelain by Thomas Germany, a traditional German porcelain brand associated with the Rosenthal group.

The tureen is distinguished especially by its striking, sculptural form. The entire body as well as the lid feature a fine, regularly running vertical ribbed/relief texture, which gives the otherwise plain white porcelain a very elegant and, for its time, modern appearance.

Particularly characteristic is the lid with its raised, geometrically, or triangularly shaped handle. Together with the two side handles, this creates a very clear, sculptural language of form.

On the underside is the original green back stamp “Thomas Germany.” Based on the stamp’s design and the overall style, production is likely in the second half of the 20th century, probably in the 1960s to 1970s. An exact dating or definitive assignment to a specific form or series could not be conclusively confirmed and is therefore expressly given as a supposition.

Dimensions: height including lid and lid handle approx. 17 cm. Diameter of the upper opening approx. 18 cm. The capacity is estimated at about 3 liters.

The tureen is in excellent preserved condition. There are no chips, no cracks, and no other damages. No unpleasant or foreign odors are detectable either. The lid and tureen are overall very clean and well preserved.

Due to the timeless white color and the pronounced relief texture, the piece is not only suitable for serving soups and other dishes, but also very nicely serves as a decorative vintage object or a collector’s item of German porcelain design."} } }
