Description from the seller
Discover Le Vieux Donjon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2025, a rare and elegant cuvée signed by the Domaine Le Vieux Donjon, a family-owned estate dedicated exclusively to the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. This white wine embodies the precision of a estate renowned for wines that are deep, sincere, and true to their terroir.
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc results from a blend of Clairette and Roussanne, two emblematic grape varieties of the appellation. Grown on the rolled pebbles and clay-limestone soils of the region, these varieties express a fine tension, controlled ripeness, and a distinctly Mediterranean signature.
The 2025 vintage reveals a profile that is pure, sapid, and energetic. The nose combines notes of lime blossom, maquis herbs, and white fruits, carried by a beautiful freshness. On the palate, the wine is ample without heaviness, with delicate texture, lively acidity, and a persistent, slightly mineral finish. It is a gastronomy-driven white—precise and refined, far from opulent, excessively oaked whites.
Domaine Le Vieux Donjon works with rigor, in a fruit- and terroir-respecting approach. The white represents a small portion of the estate’s production, making this cuvée sought after by lovers of great wines from the southern Rhône.
On the table, this Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc pairs perfectly with a large fish, sea bream or sea bass en papillote, seafood, an asparagus risotto, a crème-based poultry dish, or Provençal cuisine with fresh herbs. It also elegantly accompanies pressed cheeses, such as Comté.
Serve between 10 and 12 °C; it can be enjoyed now for its freshness, while also offering aging potential of several years thanks to its structure, concentration, and balance. An ideal bottle for lovers of age-worthy white wines, great Rhône wines, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape in its finest expression.
