attributed to Arne Basse - Corkscrew - Teak - mid-century design

This object is an iconic vintage Danish bird corkscrew and bottle opener made of teak wood, a very recognizable example of Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern design from the 1950s or 1960s by Danish designer Arne Basse.

During that period he designed a whole range of these humorous and functional teak wood animal figures (including variants of birds with a hat or a cigarette in their beaks) that served as corkscrews and bottle openers.

The object is in very good, intact and working condition. No scratches, and the original crest is fully present.
