Original 20th‑century Chinese lacquered wall panel, in black lacquer with mother‑of‑pearl inlays, titled Pannello and attributed as Originale, made of wood with dimensions 91.5 cm high, 30.5 cm wide and 2 cm deep (weight 2235 g), from a private collection and in good condition with official authenticity.
Description from the seller
Beautiful decorative wall panel in black lacquer with mother-of-pearl inlays, typical of Chinese and Asian "Chinoiserie" artistic craftsmanship from the 1960s/1980s.
The decoration depicts a naturalistic scene with botanical and faunal motifs. You can notice flowering branches, large buds (resembling peonies or chrysanthemums) and small birds in flight or perched among the foliage, evoking the traditional theme of the seasons or lush nature.
The white and iridescent details of the flowers and birds are created through careful inlay of shaped and hand-engraved mother-of-pearl elements. This material creates a strong visual contrast with the dark glossy background, obtained through the black lacquer technique applied in multiple layers.
The panel is framed by a delicate ornamental geometric lattice motif, hand-painted with gold pigment, which enriches the vertical perimeter.
Panels of this type, very popular from the mid-20th century or produced for export, were often made to be hung as elegant furnishing elements.
Dimensions cm H 91.5 x 30.5 x 2 and weighs g 2235.
Intact in good condition.
Shipped insured with professional packaging.
