Description from the seller
Exceptional original historical document signed by His Majesty the King Ferdinand VII (“I, the King”), at the Royal Palace of Madrid on April 12, 1815.
It is an official Royal Dispatch by which the rank of Sub-Lieutenant of the Betanzos Infantry Regiment is granted to Don Josef Morales, recognizing him from September 1812 in the midst of the War of Independence.
After the War of Independence and the expulsion of the French, in March 1814, Ferdinand VII returned to Spain after captivity in Valençay and launched a coup d’état abolishing the Constitution of Cádiz of 1812 to restore absolutism. The year 1815 is the first full year of consolidation of this return to the Old Regime.
Indispensable piece for militaria collectors, royal autographs and 19th‑century Spanish history. It is in very good condition, preserving its margins and text and the signature perfectly legible.
Document complete, original from the period and in magnificent condition.
Beautiful piece for collection and history of Spain.
Excellent piece with no reserve price. Great opportunity.
