Country of origin Afghanistan; model Afghaan Kelim - Gereinigd; size 176 × 120 cm; material wool on wool.
Description from the seller
-- "100% wool rug with distinctive motifs and colors - A jewel for every room - For the true connoisseur - In splendid condition"
-- approx. 200,000 knots per m²
-- With Certificate
This is a handwoven kilim rug combined with knotting techniques, made from natural, sustainable materials. Imperfections in the patterns and the shape make this piece unique and emphasize its authentic and artisanal character.
Kelims are often made of high-quality wool on a cotton or wool warp (warp thread). The patterns are often geometric and angular in shape. Each nomadic tribe has its own distinctive patterns.
Kelims are used as rugs, tent coverings, or as floor coverings and are excellent wear-ready rugs with a long lifespan.
This is a virtually unused, clean rug that can be laid out as is.
Main color: Cream/sand.
Accent colors: Reds and blue tones.
Notable features: The weaving technique combined with knotting creates notable height variation; rich abrash (intermixed natural color differences); beautiful sheen.
