Rare writing set composed of three integrated elements. Small rectangular nib box in brass, with a hinged lid decorated with a raised relief motif of a velocipede. Interior filled with a batch of replacement nibs in metal alloy. Includes a hollow cylindrical extension handle with adjustable fitting, whose lower end bears an octagonal seal signet with a heraldic/stylized monogram "A" engraved in a cavity for sealing wax or seal use. Likely manufactured in Birmingham, England (attributable to reference brands such as D. Leonardt & Co.).
Good overall condition. Natural patina of time on the brass with slight green oxidation spots (verdigris) attesting to its authenticity. Functional fit mechanism and hinges. Normal signs of use.

Antiques are my enormous passion; all the items I have up for auction were found at antique fairs and from antique dealers mainly in the Lisbon area, but also from the rest of Portugal.
