Description from the seller
Pair of vintage upholstered chairs – Mid-Century Modern, wooden armrests and abstract fabric upholstery
This characterful pair of vintage chairs combines an organically rounded design language with warm wooden elements and an expressive, abstract-patterned fabric upholstery. The softly curved backrests and the side-running upholstered panels give the chairs a sculptural appearance, while the conically tapering wooden legs ensure a light and elegant silhouette.
The elongated wooden armrests form a fascinating contrast to the generously padded seating bodies. The abstract upholstery in brown, beige, taupe and gray tones shapes the individual character of the pair and gives it an expressive textile surface.
Stylistically the chairs recall European seating furniture of the post-war era and Mid-Century Modern design. Manufacturer, designer, origin and exact production year could not be determined unequivocally so far. The stylistic classification is therefore based on the visible design features.
The underside, with its wooden frame and spring construction, provides insight into the traditional upholstery construction.
Condition: Both chairs are in used vintage condition. The fabric upholstery is older and shows visible color and brightness differences. It is possible that the upholstery has been reupholstered at a later time; however this cannot be confirmed with certainty. The exact age of the fabric is unknown. The color variations are part of the current appearance and should be considered in the purchase decision. This is explicitly not a new or freshly upholstered item.
Please view all photos carefully, especially the close-ups of the fabric and the underside. They are an essential part of the condition description.
An expressive vintage pair that combines organic forms, warm wood details and a distinctive textile cover.
