An Austrian Amphora Turn-Teplitz ceramic Art Nouveau vase, model Floriform or Fée-Iris, Decor 61, designed by Eduard Stellmacher, circa 1900–1910, measuring 15 × 20 × 20 cm.
Description from the seller
An authentic, rare variant of an Art Nouveau iris vase (Size 2, Decor 61) from the Turn-Teplitz region. Probably Eduard Stellmacher for Amphora around 1900-1905. A perfectly representative collectible object for this stylistic period.
The specific design where the iris stem curls asymmetrically around the bulbous egg-shaped body of the vase and transitions into a dense knob on the left side is a typical signature design of Eduard Stellmacher.
This Amphora vase was made around 1900-1902 and corresponds to vases from the so-called "Floriform" or "Fée Iris". Eduard Stellmacher was a top designer for Amphora.
In these experimental or early series, the well-known oval factory mark was sometimes omitted. One relied purely on:
1. The impressed pattern/size number (2) for the caster.
2. The handwritten number (61) in gold- or brown-painted glaze for the tile painter to indicate that this specific matte, terracotta-colored glaze with the pale yellow iris should be applied.
The object will be shipped very well packed. Shipping costs have been adjusted accordingly.
