Description from the seller

2 Antique 18th-Century Delftware Plates

A. A blue-and-white glazed ceramic plate shows a central mand motif filled with flowers in an Oriental style, surrounded by geometric and floral panels at the edge.
This type of decoration was inspired by traditional Chinese export porcelain from the late Ming or early Qing period (such as the Wanli or Kangxi style), but from the 17th and 18th centuries it was also widely copied by European Delftware porcelain factories.

B. This 18th-century Delft blue plate is characterized by a traditional hand-painted cobalt-blue decoration with a central floral basket and stylized floral motifs on the rim.
Characteristics of this type of Delftware
Central motif: A basket filled with flowers (jardinière or flower basket), inspired by early 18th-century Asian and European designs.
Painting: Handcrafted in underglaze cobalt blue with distinctive artisanal nuances.
Edge decoration: Stylized leaves and flower elements divided into symmetrical segments

Both plates have initials on the back
