Description from the seller
A magnificent original stoneware vase by Roger Guérin (1896–1954), crafted in Bouffioulx, Belgium. This is a highly decorative piece featuring the characteristic, richly variegated glaze for which Guérin is internationally renowned.
The vase has an elegant, bulbous body with a slender neck and a wide, flared rim. Its distinctive flammé (flame-effect) glaze displays a beautiful palette of olive green, blue-green, ochre, golden brown, grey, and dark brown tones. The fluid, sweeping glaze effects give the surface a lively, almost painterly appearance. The interior of the neck is finished in a deep, dark, almost black glaze.
