In our Spirits Gallery, we present Carpatia 1996 (0.7L / 40%)—the oldest vintage of this luxury, barrel-aged rye vodka from Polmos Bielsko-Biała. Crafted from the finest quality rye grains, the 1996 vintage distillate matured in oak barrels for over a decade, acquiring a noble amber hue and a character bridging the gap between traditional rye vodka and *starka* (aged rye spirit). The spirit is lightly sweetened and enriched with a small addition of pure vodka (approx. 10–15%); each decanter is part of a limited, hand-numbered batch. Flavor Profile
Aroma: Deep and elegant—distinct notes of prunes, coffee, and vanilla, accompanied by caramel, slightly burnt sugar, hints of oak and tannins, and delicate grain undertones.

Taste: Sophisticatedly dry yet with a dessert-like character—prunes, candied fruit, caramel, chocolate, coffee beans, vanilla, honey, and a noticeable oak-barrel influence; the alcohol is seamlessly integrated, with a smooth, oily texture.

Finish: Very long and warming—dried fruit, coffee, vanilla, caramel, and noble, slightly tannic oak, with almost imperceptible alcoholic heat. Serving
Best served slightly chilled (approx. 10–14°C) in a tasting glass or a low tumbler for slow sipping—more akin to cognac or aged rye spirit than a standard "shot" vodka. Excellent as an elegant digestif, a drink for special occasions, or a collector's tasting item.
