Aesthetic group of Barite crystals with orange Siderite on a matrix from the Brosso Mine, Lessolo, Calea (TO), Piedmont, Italy, with Barite as the main mineral, weight 158 g and dimensions 76 × 47 × 45 mm.
Description from the seller
From our selection of collectible minerals we propose an aesthetic group of Barite crystals with Siderite from the Brosso Mine, Piedmont.
Additionally, it is characterized by the vivid color contrast between the transparent and pristine white laminae of Barite and the orange rosettes of Siderite with a lamellar habit, arranged densely and scenically on a solid matrix, which enhance its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance.
The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that highlight its natural structure and visual impact.
The Brosso Mine, in the Canavese area of Piedmont, was for over a century among Italy’s most important for the extraction of pyrite and siderite, an iron carbonate whose characteristic yellow-orange color derives precisely from the iron present in the crystal lattice. Barite, barium sulfate, often forms as gangue mineral in hydrothermal fractures and is recognized for its high specific gravity, unusual for a mineral with such a clear and vitreous appearance. Today the mine is exhausted, making historical specimens like this particularly prized by collectors.
This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also within the realms of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species.
All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except for very rare exceptions always noted in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in tone may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
Shipping is carried out via reliable and selected express couriers, with fast delivery (in many cases 1-2 working days in Europe), tracked and insured shipment and professional and safe packaging, as confirmed by customer reviews. Deliveries can also take place the day after payment depending on the destination.
It is possible to accumulate multiple purchases and receive them in a single shipment, even from auctions with different deadlines, simply contact us to arrange consolidation. For important pieces direct home delivery by appointment or at major European fairs is also available.
