Magnetite octahedral crystals on matrix from Rocca Sella dykes, Rubiana, Piedmont, Italy; weight 117 g; dimensions 78 × 59 × 35 mm.
Description from the seller
From our selection of collectible minerals, we offer an elegant group of magnetite crystals on matrix from Rocca Sella, Rubiana, Piedmont.
Moreover, it features sharp magnetite crystals with an octahedral habit, black-gray metallic in color, well distributed and set in the green schistose matrix typical of Alpine rocks, elements that increase its aesthetic value and mineralogical significance.
The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with characteristics that enhance its natural structure and visual impact.
Magnetite is an iron oxide (Fe3O4) and is the most strongly magnetic naturally occurring mineral known, so much so that it has been used since antiquity as a natural compass (lodestone). It crystallizes in the cubic system, often with a well-developed octahedral habit, as in this specimen. The Rocca Sella locality, in the Susa Valley, is well known among collectors for the presence of Alpine metamorphic veins that host well-crystallized magnetite, a provenance relatively rare on the market.
This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the field of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species.
All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except for very rare exceptions always noted in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best highlight colors and details; however, slight variations in shade may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
Shipping is carried out via reliable and selected express couriers, with fast delivery (often 1-2 working days in Europe), tracked and insured shipping and professional and secure packing, as confirmed by customer reviews. Deliveries can also take place the day after payment depending on the destination.
It is possible to combine multiple purchases and receive them in a single shipment, also from auctions with different deadlines, simply contact us to arrange the consolidation. For important pieces, direct home delivery by appointment or at major European fairs is also available.
