Description from the seller
Carcharhinus altimus, also called the blunt-nosed shark, is a species of shark in the Carcharhinidae family. Found in tropical and subtropical waters around the world, it is a migratory shark that frequents deep waters at the edge of the continental shelf. It generally lives at depths of 90-430 m, but at night it can move toward the surface or into shallower waters. The blunt-nosed shark has a uniform coloration and can grow to at least 2.7-2.8 m in length. It has a long, broad snout with prominent nasal fins and tall, triangular upper teeth. The pectoral fins are long and almost straight; there is a mid-dorsal ridge between the two dorsal fins.
Hunting near the seafloor, the blunt-nosed shark feeds on bony and cartilaginous fish and cephalopods. It is a viviparous species.
Despite its size, this shark lives in waters too deep to pose a threat to humans.
A very beautiful and rare lot, absolutely worth winning.

Happy bidding.
