Extraordinary and rare continuous 2.75-meter cut of smooth cotton velvet from the era, designed by Gaetano Pesce in the 1970s for the famous Vibration collection produced by Expansion Design Bologna.

This fabric represents an icon of Italian Radical Design and the Optical Art aesthetics of the Space Age period. The pattern, known as "Harlequin" (or "Vibration"), features a vertical geometric development of drop shapes and concentric diamonds. The color palette boasts a high-contrast impact: a dense, deep espresso brown background on which the bright shades of sky blue, vivid red, bright yellow, and dark green tones in the crosses stand out.

The velvet surface gives the colors a shimmering luminosity and a unique softness to the touch, making this piece a striking decor element or a highly collectible item.

The piece is presented in excellent vintage condition: colors are saturated and bright, the velvet pile is well preserved. I note white color streaks due to the white warp on which the velvet was woven: they concern only part of the fabric.

The selvage is present and intact, neutral (without printed signature, typical of metre-long production of the era).

Being a single continuous cut of 3 meters, this piece is particularly rare on the market. It is ideal for both collectors of designer textiles and textile art, and for exclusive interior design projects (wall framing like a large tapestry, upholstery of seating or designer cushions).
