Harley Quinn - THINK FIRST / Bazal. 8.3x11.7 in.

"or don’t… it’s more fun that way"

In this illustration, Harley Quinn appears naked, carefree and fully aware of the spectacle she is creating. Her exaggerated, almost caricatured expression eliminates any trace of innocence: it is not naivety, but a staging. Harley manipulates the viewer's gaze at will, amplifying her gestures and posture with deliberate theatricality that borders on the absurd... and, yet, she maintains absolute control.

Next to her, a chibi version of the Joker acts as a mischievous accomplice. His seemingly humorous comment adds a layer of unsettling irony: humor does not soften the scene, but sharpens it. Even in this playful portrayal, his expression denotes admiration, obsession and a touch of cruelty.

Technique: green pen with accents in black ink and color details.

From an artistic standpoint, the use of green ink is entirely intentional. It creates an artificial, almost toxic atmosphere that perfectly reflects the psychology of the characters. The green — traditionally associated with the Joker — extends toward Harley's figure, symbolizing how her identity is influenced and distorted by that connection. The stroke is loose but controlled; it employs light cross-hatching to create volume, while maintaining a sense of spontaneity and energy.

The objective of the work is not only to provoke but to generate tension: a clash between humor and discomfort. The cartoonish aesthetic collides with adult themes, creating a visual contradiction that captivates the viewer: you smile... and then you wonder why.
