Specimen: Great white shark, scientific name Carcharodon carcharias; one object from Madagascar, year 2004, weight 200 g, dimensions 28 mm × 21 mm, depth 0 mm, condition good.
Description from the seller
The great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is a cartilaginous fish of the Lamnidae family. The sole living representative of the genus Carcharodon, this shark is the largest living predatory fish on the planet, as well as the third-largest fish of all time, after the whale shark and the elephant shark. The term Carcharodon comes from the Ancient Greek karcharódōn (composed of kárcharos, meaning "sharp", and odóntos, meaning "tooth"). KARCHARÍAS, on the other hand, means "shark", giving the final meaning: "shark with sharp teeth". The great white shark’s mouth is equipped with several rows of teeth: triangular and serrated on the upper jaw to shred prey, long and pointed on the lower jaw to spear and hold the prey. An exceptional central lower incisor. Dimensions: 28 mm x 21 mm. Serrations are perfectly defined, enamel glossy of the highest quality, tooth completely free of imperfections. Very beautiful! A lot that must be won at auction. Sale restricted to European countries only.
