Splendid antique desk balance scale (Roberval-type model) dating from the late 19th century (circa 1880-1900), French-made under the "Force" brand. A piece of great historical charm, perfect as a vintage decorative item, for collectors or shop window displays. The supporting framework is made of heavy black-painted cast iron, characterized by clean, restrained lines and raised lettering on the base attesting to its authenticity. The two upper pans, circular and flared, are made of solid brass, supported by the classic balance mechanism perfectly preserved. Included with the scale is its original set of brass weights, elegantly housed inside a solid wood shaped storage block.
