Description from the seller

A very fine Old Believers icon depicting the Mother of God Igorevskaja. This very rare icon of the Eleousa type is mentioned after Prince Igor Olgovich of Kiev and Chernigov who was martyred on 19-9-1147 whilst praying before a older image of this icon at the Perchersky Lavra in Kiev. Thos icon might hail from an iconostasis and is painted in a very fine hand circa 1900. 58 x 54 cm
