This seal gives this masterpiece of Moghul art priceless authenticity and significance.
Moghul Miniatures are known for their fine blend of traditions and styles and for their ability to reveal more of the world of the great dynasty than the annals and the written history.
These works, often commissioned by kings, are designed to meet the client’s wishes while placing great emphasis on realism.
The last Abbasid Caliph al-Mutawakkil III (1508-1516, again 1517) was moved from Cairo to Istanbul after Egypt was conquered by the Ottoman Sultan Selim I and the Mamluke Sultanate was eliminated; in the following years his trace and that of the entire dynasty (at latest by 1543) was lost.
I guarantee the age and the originality."
