Giovanni Battista Piranesi - (1720-1778)

Type/Technique of Print: LITHOGRAPHY
Year & Place of Edition: VIENNA, 1888
Overall Dimensions: 64 cm x 48 cm
This is the beautiful and rare etching by Piranesi, reprinted at the end of the 19th century by the author LEHMANN, in his rare work consisting of four volumes, which contain a vast repertoire of Piranesi's prints.
This is the 1st edition completely reprinted in lithography in VIENNA in 1888, using this very new printing technique.
The condition is fairly good as shown in the photo: there are small signs of aging, especially along the central fold (for double-sheet engravings...); otherwise, this is a rare and precious late-19th-century engraving, in excellent preservation.
