Laputa: Castle in the Sky – Animage Replica Series Art Portfolio – First Printing, 1987 – Japanese Edition

Vintage Japanese art portfolio dedicated to Hayao Miyazaki’s Laputa: Castle in the Sky, published by Tokuma Communications as part of the Animage Replica Series.

The Japanese title, **天空の城ラピュタ セル画集**, identifies this publication as a collection of cel artwork reproductions. The colophon states first printing, 1 March 1987 (Shōwa 62).

Presented in landscape format with an illustrated outer cover, the collection showcases the film’s characters and settings through colourful reproductions. The photographed illustrations include Pazu and Sheeta, Dola aboard a flying machine, the mining town, ruined architecture, the great tree of Laputa and a flower-covered landscape.

The illustrations combine expressive character scenes with detailed background imagery, making this an appealing period publication for collectors of Japanese animation, Studio Ghibli memorabilia and Miyazaki-related art books.
