A particularly sleek and elegantly designed console table (wall table) in the distinctive Mid-Century Modern/Brutalist style dating from 1960/1970. Because the table was bought in Belgium (Verviers) it has a heavy and brutalist appearance and is therefore attributable to small-scale production and craftsmanship. The absolute centerpiece of this piece of furniture is the handmade mosaic top. This top consists of vertically straight, rectangular tiles of high-quality art glass (glass mosaic) skillfully inlaid into a sturdy concrete base. The color palette is extremely vibrant and warm: a rich base of burgundy red, deep orange, ocher yellow and autumn brown, accented with beautiful layered and subtle blue nuances that catch the light magnificently.
The table testifies in every respect to exceptional craftsmanship. The joints between the glass elements are distributed along the entire top with metric precision at 3mm. The mosaic rests on a minimalist, geometric black metal frame (with opening) with a floating effect, giving the table a slim and modern silhouette.
In exceptionally perfect condition. The glass mosaic is completely intact: there are no loose elements, scratches, cracks or chips. The tabletop lies completely flat and level. The table is completely stable, all original end caps are straight and as good as new. The frame is likewise in impeccable condition and shows no scratches or paint damage.
