Released in 2009, the Nikon D5000 is a DX-format digital SLR equipped with a 12.3-megapixel CMOS sensor. One of its distinctive features is its vari-angle LCD monitor, which makes it easier to compose photographs from low, high, and other unconventional shooting positions.

The D5000 uses the Nikon F mount and was designed as an approachable DSLR while still offering manual shooting controls, interchangeable-lens flexibility, and Nikon's traditional photographic handling. Its relatively compact body makes it suitable for everyday photography, travel, family photographs, landscapes, portraits, and photographers who would like to enjoy the flexibility of a DSLR without carrying an excessively large camera.

■ Appearance

The camera shows only light signs of use.

There are some minor surface rubs consistent with normal handling, but they are limited and the body remains generally clean and well preserved overall.

Considering its age, the exterior presents very nicely.

■ Viewfinder / Optics

There is a small amount of fine dust visible inside the viewfinder.

Apart from these minor particles, the viewfinder remains clear overall and provides a good view for normal composition and focusing.

■ Functional

The basic functions of the camera have been checked, and it is operating properly.

The buttons, controls, and general camera operation performed normally during testing.

Please note that there is a very slight darkening in one corner of the rear LCD screen. It is minor and not particularly noticeable during normal use, but it is mentioned here for an accurate description of the camera's condition.

Other than this point, no operational problems were found during our testing.
