Impressive 1950's vase with an abstract geometrical design by Jaap Ravelli (1916-2011). Height app. 17 cm. In excellent condition and signed. A nice example of Mid-century modern design.
The ceramic work of Jaap Ravelli undoubtedly belongs to the most recognizable in the Dutch ceramics history of the twentieth century. His company in Valkenburg (ZH), which existed between 1947 and 1977, has been responsible for a large number of – mainly serial – produced articles, playing a major role in decorative design in post-war Netherlands.
Seller's Story
Artentique has been dealing in applied and decorative art since 1995, specializing in ceramic art from around 1950 to roughly 1985. Through the years we managed to acquire a large collection of unique pieces.
