Mercedes-Benz 280 S (W108) from 1971, originally delivered in the Netherlands, with only 9,857 km, manual transmission, petrol, white, 2.7‑litre inline‑six with matching numbers, NAP certificate, in very good, largely original condition.
Description from the seller
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Original in the Netherlands delivered Mercedes-Benz 280 S - W108 - S/8 from 1971
• Exceptionally low and demonstrable mileage of only 9,857 km with National Autopas Certificate
• In the possession of the same family for 50 years
• Rarely beautiful, unrestored condition; always warm and dry stored
• Equipped with an original fully working sunroof and 'Matching Numbers' 2.7-liter six-cylinder engine
HISTORY & OVERVIEW:
The Mercedes-Benz W108 series, designed by the French master designer Paul Bracq, was introduced in the mid-1960s as the successor to the 'Heckflosse' range. With its smoother lines, increased glass area and lowered centerline, the W108 became an icon of luxury, build quality and safety. This particular example is an original Netherlands-delivered 280 S from January 5, 1971. The car has been cherished by one family for 50 years and is in a beautiful, unrestored condition. The exceptionally low mileage of 9,857 km is verifiable via the National Autopas Certificate. The vehicle has always been kept dry and warm indoors.
EXTERIOR:
The bodywork is in an exceptionally well-preserved condition with minimal signs of use. The paint shines fantastically and is also in very good condition. All chrome and brightwork around the car is in good condition. The car sits on Vredestein Sprint tires with very good tread. The underside and sills are solid.
INTERIOR:
The interior is in very good condition and features blue semi-leather MB-Tex seats, rear bench and door panels. The upholstery, the original headliner and the blue carpets are in decent condition. The wood trim on the dashboard is excellent and the upper part of the dashboard is original and free of cracks. The factory sunroof, the original Blaupunkt radio and all instruments on the dashboard operate properly. For security there is an engine immobilizer installed.
ENGINE AND TECHNICAL:
Under the hood sits the original 'Matching Numbers' 2,746 cc six-cylinder petrol engine, good for 156 HP. The engine is dry, runs excellently and is paired with a manual four-speed gearbox. The S-Class has recently undergone maintenance and drives fantastically.
DOCUMENTS:
The vehicle has a valid Dutch registration certificate, a National Autopas (NAP) Certificate confirming the mileage and is delivered with a new APK inspection.
The vehicle can be viewed and picked up in Muiderberg, Netherlands. Bids are exclusive of transport and export, unless otherwise stated. Arranging transport, transfer of ownership and any export documents/COC costs is the responsibility of the buyer.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
