Description from the seller
Up for auction is a magnificent and rare Magnum (1.5L) bottle of Brunello di Montalcino "Sugarille" 1996 from Pieve Santa Restituta. This historical vintage represents one of the very first releases of Sugarille under the legendary management of Angelo Gaja, who acquired the estate in 1994.
The Magnum format allows for an exceptionally slow, elegant, and perfect aging process. The wine currently shows an outstanding evolutionary path with complex tertiary aromas of prune, dried figs, tobacco, black currant, sweet spices, and delicate toasted notes. On the palate, it is perfectly balanced, with velvety, fully integrated tannins and a remarkably long, structured finish.
* **Professional Ratings:**
- James Suckling: 96/100
- Robert Parker (Wine Advocate): 94/100
- Wine Spectator: 94/100
* **Condition:** Ready to drink now or to be cellared for several more years thanks to the large format. Perfectly stored in a dark, temperature and humidity-controlled private cellar.
