Description from the seller

North European Mesolithic bone spear point
7000-6000 B.C.

A remarkable prehistoric spear point made from a substantial section of animal bone. The implement has an elongated, tapering body terminating in a finely pointed tip, with a broader, cylindrical base designed for attachment to a wooden shaft. Its exterior has been carefully shaped and smoothed, retaining the natural longitudinal grain of the bone. Bone implements of this type were an essential part of Mesolithic hunting and fishing equipment.
The spear point is in good overall condition, displaying age-related surface wear, natural discolouration, and minor abrasions. The pointed tip and overall profile remain clearly recognisable. An old handwritten inscription on the exterior reads "Klinte Strand. Nord-Fyn. 1936".

Length 8.2 cm.

Provenance: Danish collection. Found in 1936 in Denmark.

Certificate of authenticity enclosed.
Shipping inside EU only.
