This extraordinary natural sapphire on matrix impresses with its distinctive, well-formed corundum crystal, embedded in a contrasting dark rock matrix. Even in normal light the crystal shows a fascinating play of color with deep violet, purplish nuances and warm reddish-brown tones. When the crystal is backlit, its impressive transparency and the intense zoning of colors with glowing red and purple areas are revealed, making its natural formation in the host rock impressively visible.

The matrix consists of a coarse-grained mix of dark minerals with light quartz and feldspar components, which makes the sapphire crystal stand out especially effectively.
