Natural aquamarine rough crystal from Dara-i-Pech, Konar Province, Afghanistan; 154.55 ct (30.91 g), transparent blue beryl, rough crystal, untreated, hardness 6.5–7.0, size 43×27×17 mm.
Description from the seller
This impressive natural aquamarine captivates with its exceptionally clear, ice-blue coloration and a fascinating transparency that gives the crystal an almost water-like aura. The harmonious blue and turquoise hues recall crystal-clear glacier water and lend the piece an elegant, calm presence.
Especially striking is the crystal’s interior, woven with countless natural reflections, fine tension structures, and crystalline growth features. Depending on the lighting, sparkling light play and occasional delicate rainbow effects arise, further emphasizing the mineral’s extraordinary depth. Smooth natural crystal facets alternate with shell-like fracture structures, making the crystal’s formation history visibly impressive.
Aquamarine belongs to the beryll family and ranks among the world’s most coveted gemstone minerals. Rough crystals with such intense transparency and evenly light-blue color are considerably rarer than ordinary beryls and are highly popular with collectors and enthusiasts of fine minerals. Each specimen possesses a unique internal structure and individual color distribution, making every piece a distinctive one-of-a-kind.
Traditionally, aquamarine is associated with clarity, calm, and inner balance. It is said to promote calmness and concentration and to create a harmonious atmosphere. These traditional properties complement the mineral’s extraordinary natural beauty, but they are secondary to its striking optical effect.
A rare and valuable collectible, which, through its exceptional transparency, ice-blue color, and fascinating natural structures, convinces both mineralogical and decorative purposes and enriches any discerning mineral collection.
