Description from the seller
This impressive sphalerite rough fascinates with its exceptional transparency and the intense color effect, which comes into spectacular display, especially under lighting. Already in normal light the piece shows warm honey, amber and deep orange-brown tones with highly glossy crystal faces and a glassy sheen. The natural structure consists of numerous angular crystal facets, reflections and fine internal planes, which give the piece enormous optical depth.
Under transmitted light the mineral transforms into a nearly glowing palette of colors of intense red, orange and golden fire. The translucent areas appear almost like melted lava or liquid amber and create an extraordinarily lively radiance. Through the numerous natural fracture surfaces there arise countless light reflections and prismatic effects, which make the piece look constantly different depending on the viewing angle.
Sphalerite is among the particularly fascinating collector minerals and is known for its high luster as well as its strong refractive power. Highly transparent pieces with such intense luminescence and aesthetic structure are especially sought after and possess a very distinctive presence in any mineral collection or display cabinet.
Traditionally, sphalerite is attributed activating and strengthening energy. It symbolically stands for vitality, focus and inner strength and is often associated with motivation, creativity and energetic balance.
